TB3194 - 600 x 600 CASSETTES - SELECTION OF FAN SPEEDS

10th September 2005

This change affects installer fan speed selection on CC600 E/M, CC600 L, CC600 E & CWC600 L  (552, 971 series) units.

These units will be shipped from Brighouse, starting September 2004, fitted with revised electrics (already available on CWC600 electromechanical units).

Performance is not affected, but the change allows installers more choice on speed selection.
Until now, units have had 3 fixed speed ranges (generally 1/2/3, 2/3/4, 3/4/5): this change allows any three speeds to be selected.
All units will be shipped with appropriate wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
As before, Speed 1 is not allowed on DX combinations
600 20 + MCU+30,   600 40 + MCU+50, 600 60 + MCU+60.

Effect by model:

600 E/M
Speed selections will be made in the external electrics box (previously in the internal electrics box).
Five speed wires run into the external electrics box from the motor:-
Violet (Speed 1), Brown (Speed 2), White (Speed 3), Grey (Speed 4) and Pink (Speed 5).
Units will be factory set to speeds 2/3/4. The other 2 speed wires will be capped off.
To change set speeds, wires are moved to appropriate terminals to suit requirements (eg 2/3/5).

600 L
Speed selections will continue to be made in the internal electrics box.
Five speed wires run from the motor into the internal electrics box:-
Orange (Speed 1), Yellow (Speed 2), White (Speed 3), Grey (Speed 4) and Pink (Speed 5).
Units will be factory set to speeds 2/3/4 (PCB terminals High, Med & Low).  The other 2 speed wires will be capped off.
To change set speeds, wires are moved to appropriate PCB terminals to suit requirements (eg 2/3/5).

600 E
Speed selections will continue to be made in the internal electrics box.
Five speed wires run from the motor into the internal electrics box:-
Orange (Speed 1), Yellow (Speed 2), White (Speed 3), Grey (Speed 4) and Pink (Speed 5).
Units will be factory set to speeds 2/3/4 (at the interconnecting terminal block).  The other 2 speed wires will be capped off.
To change set speeds, wires are moved at the terminal block to suit requirements (eg 2/3/5).

600 CWC L
Speed selections will continue to be made in the internal electrics box.
Five speed wires run from the motor into the internal electrics box:-
Orange (Speed 1), Yellow (Speed 2), White (Speed 3), Grey (Speed 4) and Pink (Speed 5).
Units will be factory set to speeds 1/2/3 (PCB terminals Low, Med & High). The other 2 speed wires will be capped off.
To change set speeds, wires are moved to appropriate PCB terminals to suit requirements (eg 2/3/5).
