Heronhill has been honoured in the recent Somerset Business of the Year Awards ceremony, organised by the Federation of Small Businesses, winning the Best Use of Broadband prize.

Since connecting to broadband, Heronhill have had many benefits. Managing Director Nigel Manning says:

"We've improved our service by having the latest technical manuals and sales brochures available on our website for customers to download immediately, rather than waiting several days to receive them by post. By doing this, we have made huge savings in postage charges, so we are now able to invest even more in further developing our website. Also, we used to drive 180 miles each way to attend a monthly meeting in Hertfordshire. However, this is now carried out online using video conferencing through our broadband connection, saving both travelling time and expense".

Broadband has also allowed the company to use remote IT support services.

Nigel adds "This brings us big savings as it cuts out the cost of expensive call-out charges, and we also save time because with broadband it is so fast and easy to access the Internet".
